UF Health Shands is a private, not-for-profit hospital system affiliated with the University of Florida. It is part of UF Health, the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center, with campuses in Gainesville and Jacksonville.
Manages daily operations of HIM Department including human resources, projects, policies and procedures, process improvement and budget. Oversees and coordinates Revenue Cycle functions including systems selection, development, auditing, coding, abstracting, DNFB, Clinical Documentation Improvement and communication with multiple departments. Works closely with IT and serves as HIM Subject Matter Expert for electronic record development, implementation and use. Utilizes project management leadership skills for ICD-10 Implementation and other projects; develops and implements strategic plans for HIM.
Minimum 5 years experience in medical records OR Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) with associate degree and minimum 5 years experience in medical records. Previous supervisory experience required. Experience with an electronic medical record systems and systems implementation required. Strong knowledge of coding and billing procedures.

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management
