Student Initiative Webinar: Implementation of Soft Skills

Soft Skills have surpassed technical skills in many work arenas including healthcare. During this student centered webinar we will define, and discuss what’s needed for new applicants and what experienced employees can do to improve or expand skills to make them more valuable to their current employers or new opportunities.

Kym Dawson, RHIA, CPMA is a revenue cycle professional with 30+ years of experience. Kym has held a multitude of positions including Business Office Director, Patient Access Director, Market Director and CBO Director of Collections, Agency Accounts, Appeals and Denials as well as Support Services. She has served as team lead for multiple system installations and upgrades in both front end and back end software applications for HCA. She has led teams as small as 10 to as large as 100 in efforts to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators and Metrics within the HCA/Parallon system. Currently, she is in the role of Dual Director of Patient Access Services for both Englewood Community Hospital and Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She is also the Outpatient Test and Treatment Team Leader for both facilities Patient Experience Teams.
Kym graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. In 2016, she graduated from Weber State University with her post baccalaureate certification in Health Information Management. She received her RHIA credential in May of 2017.
